Named one of Conde Nast Traveler’s “Unforgettable Family Vacations,” Four Seasons Resort Hualalai offers myriad programming for families travelling during spring break and beyond. The award-winning Resort recently debuted a Resort-wide, multi-million dollar renovation including new pool at King’s Pond, addition of Kumu Kai Marine Center, reimagined guest rooms and suites, addition of Hualalai Golf Hale, and renovated Hualalai Golf Course. Hualalai offers robust educational and interactive activities for families year-round, and currently provides a variety of options for guests taking advantage of the distance-learning schedule for kids.

Camp Manitou

Camp Manitou, a highly accoladed children’s camp in Maine, returns for the fifth year and hosts a pop-up version of their camp at Hualalai over spring break from March 22 to April 11, 2021. The camp experience for children ages 9 through 17 will feature the outstanding programs and staff Camp Manitou is known for, focusing on an array of cultural, recreational, and explorative activities. Daily activities take campers to explore throughout the Resort and Hawaii Island, with single and multi-day programming. Memorable off-site activities include visiting secret beaches, exploring lava tubes and waterfalls, kayaking and snorkelling at Kealakekua Bay, and stargazing at Mauna Kea. Camp Manitou at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai also offers Family Day Adventures, a full day adventure created by the Camp Manitou team for families. Each Family Day Adventure is private and full customised to the guest, with a unique itinerary for exploring magical Hawaii Island.

Kumu Kai Marine Center

The brand new Kumu Kai Marine Center at King’s Pond is the latest in the evolution of the Marine Biology program at Hualalai. Kumu Kai features a touch tank and digital display where guests can learn about the 4,000 tropical fish living in King’s Pond and the delicate ecosystem of the ponds throughout the Resort. The Resort’s team of on-site marine biologists offers ocean preservation and marine educational programming including a Whale Talk, Private Eagle Ray Feeding, Fish Derby, Tide Pool Tour, Jr. Marine Biologist Experience, Turtles and Tales, and Ocean Life Exploration.

Kids For All Seasons

The Resort’s complimentary Kids For All Seasons program offers activities and experiences for children 5 and older. Daily interactive activities include tie-dye, henna tattoos, ceramic art, dream catcher weaving and gyotaku, the Japanese art of printing fish onto cloth. During spring break, Kids For All Seasons will host a Friday night movie and dinner under the stars at the Resort’s Hoku Amphitheatre. Additionally, theme nights including Cupcake Wars, Minute to Win It, Chopped, and Glow Up are available for kids to engage in interactive and fun contests.

Culinary Activities

The Resort’s culinary team led by Executive Chef Richard Polhemus has created a variety of special culinary activations throughout the Resort’s multiple dining options. At ULU Ocean Grill, Friday Night Market features a different theme each week inspired by street food in Asia. Sunset Sounds twice weekly provide live music guests may enjoy while taking in the sunset and throughout dinner. At Beach Tree, every Sunday Chef Polhemus will create a special menu featuring Italian flavours, designed for sharing. Live music with hula dancers compliment the dinner experience, while fresh coconuts are opened and served for a refreshing daytime beverage. Throughout spring break, families can roast s’mores and stargaze under the Hawaiian sky.
