The 2024 Taste of Iceland Festival, presented by Inspired by Iceland, is set to enchant Denver, Colorado, on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11. This festival is a vibrant celebration of Icelandic culture, extending across Denver with a plethora of events that highlight Iceland’s unique culinary delights, music, natural beauty, wellness, and more.
The event aims to bring the essence of Iceland to North America, creating a bridge between cultures through a collaborative effort with local businesses and official partners of Taste of Iceland. Venues like Coohills, Globe Hall, and Invisible City will host an array of featured events.
Admission to most events is complimentary, though tickets are necessary and attendees are advised to arrive early to ensure access. Tickets can be obtained from the Taste of Iceland Website, where reservations for the special Icelandic dinner at Coohills are also available.
Festival Highlights Include:
- Icelandic Culinary Experience: Chef Tom Coohill of Coohills and Chef Gabríel Kristinn Bjarnason from Iceland’s National Culinary Team will delight diners with an Icelandic-inspired menu featuring seafood, lamb, and skyr from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Coohills. Reservations are required for the prix-fixe menu, available through the Taste of Iceland Website.
- Wheel of Prizes by Icelandair: Attendees can win prizes, including a trip for two to Iceland, at various festival events. Details and information on special flight deals from Denver to Iceland by Icelandair are available on the official website.
- Reykjavik Presents: Iceland Airwaves Off-Venue: A showcase of Icelandic musical talent featuring Axel Flóvent and Arny Margret, with DJ Hermigervill, will take place at Globe Hall. Doors open at 7:00 PM.
- Elemental Sound Bath: Experience a serene sound bath session led by Jósa Goodlife, accompanied by complementary gifts and a visit to the Icelandic Provisions Skyr Bar at 11:00 AM at Invisible City.
- Taste of Iceland Cooking Class: Learn the art of Icelandic cooking with Chefs Haflidi Halldorsson and Gabríel Kristinn Bjarnason at 2:00 PM at Coohills.
- Icelandia Presents: Geology with Helga: Delve into the world of Icelandic geology with Helga Kristin Torfadottir and explore Icelandia’s tours through a VR experience at 3:00 PM at Invisible City.
- Icelandair Presents: Cocktails & Comedy: An evening of comedy with Ari Eldjárn and Reyka Vodka cocktails crafted by mixologist Tóta at 8:00 PM at Invisible City.
The Taste of Iceland is a much-anticipated annual event, promoting Iceland and its products, backed by partners such as Icelandair, Visit Reykjavík, and many others. Following Denver, the festival will also be held in New York, NY, and Seattle, WA.
