Erciyes A.Ş., under the Metropolitan Municipality, has been successfully managing the Erciyes Ski Center, a premier destination in the world of mountaineering and winter sports with 112 ski slopes stretching over 41 kilometers and 19 mechanical lifts.
Thanks to its aggressive global promotion and marketing strategies, Erciyes has become a hub for international tourists, drawing tens of thousands from across the globe, notably from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, and now aims to welcome visitors from Scandinavian countries as well.
Recently, officials from Apollo Sports, a company specializing in sports and ski tourism in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, conducted an inspection of the ski resort. During their visit, they were extensively briefed about Erciyes, as well as the historical and natural attractions of Kayseri and the nearby world-renowned site of Cappadocia.
Following their exploration, which included a tour of the facilities and an opportunity to ski, the officials returned to finalize an agreement with Erciyes Ski Center’s hotels. They have crafted holiday packages that encompass the cultural and historical essence of Kayseri and Cappadocia along with the skiing experience at Erciyes, set to be introduced to Scandinavian tourists from the next season.
Apollo Sports manager Janis Frangiskos expressed his admiration for the region, noting the unique combination of culture and skiing that Erciyes and Cappadocia offer, which he termed as the ‘Cultural Ski’ concept. He highlighted the comprehensive facilities available for individuals and families alike, underlining the seamless integration of Erciyes with the cultural richness of the area. This initiative marks a significant step towards attracting a new demographic to Kayseri Erciyes, enriching the tourism potential with a blend of adventure, culture, and history.
