Dundonald, the esteemed resort nestled in Ayrshire, secured victory in the ‘Best Premium Hotel – 4 Star Equivalent’ division during an opulent ceremony held at the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre in Inverness on March 21st.

The resort garnered acclaim for its cutting-edge lodging offerings, which were unveiled alongside a fresh clubhouse in 2021. Guests are presented with a choice between a range of lodges, featuring two, four, and six bedrooms, meticulously crafted with golfers in mind, complete with expansive putting greens outside. Additionally, the resort offers hotel-style one-bedroom pods. Each accommodation option at Dundonald boasts opulent furnishings and contemporary design, prioritizing sustainability.

Dundonald also emerged as a finalist in the ‘Best Clubhouse’ and ‘Best Course’ categories, standing out as one of only three venues shortlisted in multiple categories. Remarkably, it was the sole course in western Scotland to achieve this distinction.

Vicki Harrison, general manager at Dundonald Links, said: “Since opening our lodges and pods in 2021, we have been inundated with positive reviews and incredible feedback.

“Being recognised at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards is a real honour and testament to both the success of our investment and the hard work of the team.”

Twenty years since Kyle Phillips’ inaugural course unveiling, Dundonald Links has entrenched itself as an essential stop along Ayrshire’s renowned golfing coastline. Following extensive investment following Darwin Escapes’ acquisition in 2019, the unveiling of a new clubhouse and opulent accommodations has transformed it into the quintessential Scottish destination for stay-and-play experiences.

Dundonald’s collection of honors expands with its latest recognition, coming just half a year after earning the title of ‘Scotland’s Best Golf Hotel’ at the prestigious World Golf Awards. The course has a distinguished history of hosting prominent events, including the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open from 2015 to 2017, the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open in 2017, and the Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open in 2022. Additionally, it remains a chosen venue for the yearly Final Qualifying for The Open Championship, a tradition slated to persist until 2026.
