Biltmore

Throughout Biltmore’s expansive grounds, a myriad of spring blossoms herald the season’s arrival, with daffodils leading the floral parade followed by tulips, wisteria, azaleas, rhododendrons, and roses. Spanning over 22 miles, hiking and biking trails offer diverse vistas, from the distant peaks of Mount Pisgah and the Blue Ridge Mountains to serene paths shaded by lush bamboo along the French Broad River.

Inside Biltmore House, the floral team has crafted enchanting displays echoing the theme of “Spring Romance.” Victorian-style maypoles adorned with ribbons and fresh spring foliage warmly greet visitors, setting a nostalgic tone as they embark on their tour.

In honor of the centennial anniversary of Cornelia Vanderbilt’s spring wedding to John F.A. Cecil in April 1924, Biltmore’s floral artisans have meticulously recreated a grand wedding bell and floral arrangement reminiscent of the couple’s celebration in the Tapestry Gallery. Drawing inspiration from the original decor, guests can immerse themselves in the ambiance of this historic event.

Enhancing the visitor experience, a new audio guide for Biltmore House will be introduced, offering engaging narratives about the Vanderbilt family and their esteemed guests. Initially available in English from April 15, with subsequent releases in Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin Chinese, the tour will also include options for American Sign Language and descriptive audio for visually impaired guests.

Meanwhile, at the estate’s exhibition center, Amherst at Deerpark, an extraordinary display awaits with “Chihuly at Biltmore,” showcasing the timeless artistry of Dale Chihuly. Renowned for his innovative glass sculptures, this exhibit features a diverse collection of Chihuly’s works spanning decades, including pedestal pieces, drawings, chandeliers, and neon installations, exclusively curated for Biltmore.

To commemorate the exhibition’s opening, Biltmore will host three special dinners on March 29, April 27, and May 18 as part of the Chihuly at Biltmore Dinner Series.

For those seeking an immersive experience, overnight packages are available at The Inn on Biltmore Estate, Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate, and the private Cottages on Biltmore Estate. These packages offer luxurious accommodations inspired by the Vanderbilt legacy, combined with exclusive access to Biltmore House and the Chihuly exhibition, ensuring a memorable spring getaway filled with unparalleled hospitality and cultural delights.
