A breathtaking hotel situated in Scotland has recently been acknowledged as one of the world’s most fashionable accommodations, joining the ranks of the most opulent destinations for travelers. This recognition encompasses a variety of exquisite lodgings, ranging from secluded retreats and woodland escapes to coastal resorts.

The selection process was inclusive of accommodations featuring rooftop swimming facilities and extensive collections of artwork. To compile this list, professionals from various fields, including design, art, and editorial within the GQ network, were consulted to identify the most visually appealing and luxurious places for guests to stay.

While the list is presented without specific rankings, a remarkable establishment within the Scottish Highlands, known as The Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar, Ballater, stands out among the international assortment. This 46-room hotel, which originally served as a Victorian coaching inn, has been transformed into a luxurious five-star boutique hotel following an extensive renovation. Its unique charm lies in the blending of historical antiques with modern innovations, offering rooms decorated with hand-painted walls and beds designed to resemble cozy cabins, adorned with lavish artifacts.

The Fife Arms is also home to an exceptional restaurant that highlights Scottish culinary offerings alongside an impressive selection of beverages. Guests have the opportunity to savor an array of whiskies, wines, and cocktails at the hotel’s various bars, including enjoying beverages beside a warm fireplace in the ‘Fondue Hut,’ adorned with wooden panels. Additionally, the hotel offers a multitude of sumptuous spa treatments at the Albamhor Treatment Rooms for ultimate relaxation.

GQ’s experts praised The Fife Arms for its artful approach to hospitality, led by the influential duo behind the renowned Hauser & Wirth gallery. The hotel, located near the Cairngorms National Park, is described as a fusion between a traditional hunting lodge and the Tate Modern, offering guests the luxury of unwinding with a whisky beneath artworks by notable artists like Man Ray, Pablo Picasso, and Lucian Freud after a day in the moors.

Among other UK hotels listed, Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire received accolades for its expansive Roman-style baths, elaborate chandeliers, Victorian-era antiques, and an abundance of silk sofas, marking it as another distinguished mention.
