Brussels Airport welcomed over 1.7 million passengers in March, marking a 9% increase from March 2023. Despite challenges such as flight cancellations to Israel and airline disruptions, the airport saw growth in intercontinental travelers, with departing transfer passengers making up nearly 17% of the total. The top 10 countries for March included Spain, Germany, Italy, France, and others.

For the first quarter of 2024, passenger numbers reached 4.7 million, nearly 10% higher than the previous year. Transfer passenger rates remained steady, with a rise in intercontinental travelers and fewer intra-European flights.

Cargo volumes experienced a slight decline of 2% compared to March 2023, totaling close to 65,000 tonnes. Flown cargo saw a similar decrease of almost 2%, with notable changes in full freighter and belly cargo segments.

Aircraft movements in March increased by 3% from the previous year, totaling 15,237 movements. Passenger flights rose by 7%, while cargo flights decreased by nearly 10%, primarily due to reduced express services.
