In collaboration with Jin Jiang International, its owners and shareholders, Radisson Hotel Group introduces the “Guan Xin” (Welcome China) initiative. This program aims to enhance the experience for Chinese travelers by expanding its co-branded hotels and introducing a tailored amenity program, ensuring a comfortable “home away from home” environment. Building upon its successful debut in 2019, Radisson Hotel Group plans to unveil eight more co-branded properties in 2024 across select Radisson Blu and Radisson Collection hotels in the EMEA region, coinciding with the resurgence of Chinese outbound travel.

In the forecast of industry experts, 2024 emerges as a pivotal year poised for a significant surge in outbound Chinese tourism, propelled by the momentum of the domestic tourism boom experienced in 2023. According to Skift, “2023 was the year of China reopening to the world, while 2024 will be the year of consolidating and growing outbound tourism. Wealthy Chinese travelers are showing a keen interest in EU destinations (13%) , in particular France, UK, Germany, and Italy vs other short-haul destinations in Asia, and will be travelling in 2024 with the expectation of bespoke amenities catering to their requirements, tastes, and cultural preferences.”

After the successful co-branding debut at Radisson Blu Hotel, Frankfurt in 2019, Radisson Hotel Group is set to launch eight additional co-branded properties in 2024 across the EMEA region. These properties will be situated in key markets such as France, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands, including renowned locations like Radisson Collection Grand Place in Brussels, Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo, Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel in Trondheim, Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø, Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel in Stockholm, Radisson Blu Hotel in Amsterdam, Radisson Blu Hotel in Milan, and Radisson Blu Hotel in Nice.

Each of these co-branded hotels will offer a tailored array of features and amenities meticulously crafted for Chinese guests, ensuring a personalized experience akin to being at home. These enhancements encompass every aspect of the guest journey, from Chinese-inspired menus and welcome materials to the convenience of using Chinese UnionPay cards for payments. By the end of 2024, guests will also have access to WeChat Pay and Alipay for seamless online transactions. Inside the guest rooms, thoughtful details like tea kettles, a selection of premium Chinese teas, and Chinese television channels will enhance the stay experience at co-branded properties.

Moreover, the culinary offerings at these hotels will cater to Chinese-speaking travelers with the addition of traditional dishes such as congee and noodles, along with a curated selection available during breakfast service. These specialized amenities, tailored for Chinese travelers, complement the existing extensive amenities catering to international guests, with communication facilitated in English and various other languages.

“We have already started to see a strong increase in demand from Chinese outbound travelers in 2024 searching for unique international experiences over the Lunar New Year. With foreign visas gradually becoming more accessible and increased international flight routes, we are hoping to see the long-awaited return of outbound Chinese travelers to EMEA continue to grow. We look forward to welcoming more Chinese travelers with our new Guan Xin program to make them feel right at home,” says Eric De Neef, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at Radisson Hotel Group.

Alongside the hotel co-branding initiative, Radisson Hotel Group will extend the “Guan Xin” amenity program to other properties within the EMEA region. Participation in this program will be voluntary, based on the individual needs and expectations of each hotel’s guests. Presently, close to 20 hotels throughout EMEA already provide the standard “Guan Xin” program to cater to the preferences of Chinese guests.
