Alaska Airlines and STARLUX Start Direct Flights from Seattle to Taipei This Summer

Alaska Airlines’ latest global partner, STARLUX Airlines, revealed plans today to introduce direct flights between Seattle and Taipei starting this summer. The inaugural flight from Seattle is slated for August 16th. Initially, STARLUX will operate three weekly flights, offering seamless connections to various Asian destinations. For added convenience, guests can now book STARLUX flights from the West Coast to Taipei directly through alaskaair.com, including the new Seattle route.

STARLUX inaugurated its transpacific service between Taipei and Los Angeles in April 2023, followed by the launch of service between Taipei and San Francisco in December of the same year. With Los Angeles, San Francisco, and now Seattle as gateway airports for Alaska Airlines, travelers can enjoy convenient access to STARLUX flights. Additionally, Mileage Plan members can both earn and redeem miles on STARLUX, further enhancing the travel experience.

STARLUX serves as an international gateway via its primary hub in Taipei, offering connections to over 20 destinations across Asia. These include cities such as Bangkok, Thailand; Hanoi, Vietnam; Penang, Malaysia; Cebu, Philippines; Singapore; Macau, as well as over nine destinations in Japan.

STARLUX will operate its transpacific route using state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft, featuring a four-class layout: First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. First and Business class passengers will luxuriate in a private space with sliding doors, along with full-flat seats and Zero G mode for ultimate relaxation. Premium Economy offers extra legroom with a 40-inch Recaro seat, complete with leg and footrest bars. Economy class seats boast leather headrests and ample seat pitch.

Onboard service on STARLUX encompasses Taiwanese signature dishes and amenities available across all classes.First and Business class travelers will indulge in a selection of top chef creations and local Taiwanese delicacies. STARLUX’s renowned signature dish, yakiniku donburi, is served onboard. Moreover, passengers of all classes have the option to pre-order meals online, ensuring a personalized dining experience.
